Scorching ‘Raksha’ at Cold storage Run 2012!!

Last Sunday morning, the young Star runners in Singapore gathered at Padang to showcase their strength and stamina competing in Singapore Cold storage run 2012. The event quality was second to none, The kids competed hard turning out better performances from earlier competitions held previous year. Of particular mentioning was speedy purple dash run that turned out to be the swiftest race of all. Our Longvale girl Raksha who happened to running for the first time in this higher category of 11 to 12 years old stuck to the task putting up a good competition to finish in 16th position out of 191 strong runners ensuring to put the countries name on top along with other nations. The Colours came alive yet again in the premises of Longvale but this time around it wasn't for the professionals showing their well-crafted skills at 'Rangoli' but the armatures who lead their way in 'Rang' ke sath 'Holi' demonstrating their colour skills on each other.

Diwali Dhamaka- Check Deh !!

Sustained running from Raksha and Ullekha helped ward of stiff challenge presented by some of the elite road race running kids in the recently concluded Feather run race securing themselves a podium finish. Raksha held on to her previous year postion improving on her times, followed by Ullekha who secured 4th position bettering her last year performance. Wishing very best for their future endeavours!!!

Transformation Times

I have been told there is a blessing in Chinese which states as "May you live in Interesting times", what a noble and sensible blessing it is? Clearly goes on to state that our lives are invariably influenced by the happenings around us, be it the transformations for good or worse.

The Tiger Roars!!!!

India celebrates emphatic win clinched on field by the strength of character and courage of their men bringing cheers to millions of Indians, which no budget or bonuses could provide in recent past.
Crore’s of people old and young, Rich and poor joined their hands together to stand firmly behind their team in the hour of truth. What a match it was !!! The game swung like pendulum swaying in either direction the prayers reached heaven and gods could not ignore it, The blessings came to keep our hopes of cup intact.
The event will certainly go down as our brightest movement of Indian world cup history and with it our memories of coming together as a group in long vale and cheering for the team.
Thanks to Ravi, Anu and kids for hosting and bearing the noisy lot. Further they have come forward to host it on a larger scale and screen the gala event of world cup finals to Longvale Duniya members, there has also been suggestions of making it a pot lock party…Do suggest us what you think and be there to cheer the men in blue…..

It is one occasion when sprinkling colored powder ('gulal') or colored water on each other breaks all barriers of discrimination so that everyone looks the same and universal brotherhood is reaffirmed.

Our ‘Divali Nite’ Pre-Events

Dear Friends, for those of you who missed being there here is glimpse of ‘Divali Nite’ pre-events.

The Tug of War and Rangoli drawing events turned out to be a major attraction and far exceeded the limited expectations the organizers had.
The events were well competed and had whole lot of fun, The time flew by unnoticed which explains how engrossed we were in them.
It invoked good interest from the audience and on lookers who willingly joined us and shared the fun.
We are now eagerly looking forward for our most popular and curtain raiser event “ Drawing competition for our Kids”. Lets be at the forefront along with our little ones to make use of this opportunity for the betterment of their skills and personalities.

A Feather on the Cap

The Longvale groups talent show continues to shine uninhibited. This time around it was the turn of kids to demonstrate their skills.

Guess most have you already know about if from the Morning News Paper 'Today. Yes, it’s the appearance of our kiddos ‘Ullekha’ and ‘Raksha’s picture in Today’s newspaper depicting their starting position as part of girls under 12 years SpongeBob and PinkPants run.

This time the girls not only participated in the event but ended up securing second and fourth positions respectively winning a prize worth 560 dollars.

The “SpongeBob PinkPants” run other than being a children’s day event was also an awareness building and fund raising event for Cancer. Participating in their first ever competitive run ever, The girls produced an impressive result.



On the other occassion 'Bigas', 'Raksha' and 'Ullekah' participated in the OSIM triathlon run and in a bunch of 60 odd kids secured 45th, 19th and 9th postion respectively, Isn't it a job well done!!!,Lets join in congratulating these kids and with them many more successes in future

We thank you for your overwhelming response in choosing our Banner and Posters for the upcoming event. Your support has been an encouraging factor in nurturing the budding talents of our group.
You would be happy to note, that in total there were 41 votes casted in this selection.

Under the Poster category the Poster-Option 2 has emerged as a clear choice of the group and in the Banner category the Banner Option 4 has been chosen just ahead of Banner option 3

It has been a neck to neck competition and almost resulted in a tie putting the organizers at a dizzy situation, The winners only emerged towards the fag end of the competition and its the last few votes that made the distinction.
This clearly demonstrates that the group has liked and appreciated all the entries been and have evenly received them.

Banner Designing

Good news to share

Our Longvale Duniya girl Ullekha has won a bronze award in YMCA PESA( Plain English Speaking Awards) competition. We thank you for you overwhelming response and support extended by casting your valuable vote in favour of local girt at public voting.

“Come let’s fly a kite, up in the Atmosphere”

Reminds us of Mary poppins song isn’t it. Well that’s what we longvaleits indulge in at the Bedok Reservoir view on 12th June 2010.
Incidentally, it also happened to be a seniors day out as some of the families had the company of their elders who had come to spend time with their grand children during school holidays. The kidoos were well inspired with elderly encouragement to put up a good show, but the wind turned out to be a dampener nevertheless whether the kite went high or not, the kids put a good show with the surprise fireworks on offer and concluded the event in a high note.

Lal rang tesu ke phoolon se,
